At 8000 Square Feet, this location houses two floors of teaching rooms large enough to hold several thousand students. Our Victoria Park Studio is conveniently located beside Eglinton Square Shopping Centre at the corner of Victoria Park Avenue and Eglinton Avenue.

The Ontario Conservatory of Music (OCOM) has served thousands of families in the Scarborough community over the past 50 years!

If you grew up in the Niagara Region and took music lessons, chances are you learned with us!

Due to our commitment to teaching excellence in Toronto and to better serve our valued students, the Ontario Conservatory continues to grow—watch for the upcoming North East Scarborough Location.

What Can You Expect With A High-Quality Program With Our School?

While many schools and retail stores offering lessons use independent contractors, our staff are employees, not independent contractors!

All teaching staff are employees of the Ontario Conservatory. Our teachers require a university degree in music education and are required to teach all levels of Theory while following and delivering the Royal Conservatory Program Syllabus. As employees of a top Scarborough school of music, our teachers are trained to specifically deliver the program you expect from Ontario Conservatory while developing a relationship with your child that will keep them engaged.

There are many teachers that have attempted to join our team but through our evaluation have learned that in many cases there was no formal training for the applicant. It is very important when choosing a school to know who you are entrusting with your family’s musical education!

The Royal Conservatory Program Syllabus

When you learn with us you are taught our certified syllabus while being prepared for annual examinations.

When our students reach grade five, which is the beginning of the RCM syllabus, our students are developed and prepare for the annual RCM exam.

By receiving this high-quality program with our school your child can obtain two high school credits, which is RCM piano level seven, and eight while also completing levels nine, and ten which would qualify your child to one day teach students of their own!

While we are proud to teach many of the highest achieving students throughout the Niagara Region we also prepare level students aspiring for the university level.

Music Education for All Ages and Levels

Our Victoria Park Studio provides an extensive selection of programs for students of every age and level, giving them the chance to explore a variety of instruments and styles.

Special Needs Program – Victoria Park

We provide our Free Musical Aptitude Test to everyone interested in a program. For our Special Needs Program, the requirements are that the guardian of the child confirms that the child is verbal, has the ability to communicate with an instructor, is able to learn in an educational environment and interact one-on-one with a tutor without parental supervision. For full details, please visit our Special Needs Program Page.

Here at OCOM, we have pioneered what has become the most popular method for music study today: group instruction. Our group classes are designed for everyone—from young children to teens, young adults and older adults.

Through group instruction, people of all ages learn faster, learn by comparison and learn to play in unison.
