65th Annual Canadian Music League Music Competition

This weekend, we are proud to host the largest, privately held music competition in North America. For three days, from July 19th through the 21st, we will welcome over 3,500 students to the Hilton Meadowvale Hotel in Mississauga to showcase their talents and compete for awards during our 65th Annual Canadian Music League Music Competition.

The Canadian Music League Music Competition is open to all instruments and includes both duets and group performances. We invite musicians of all ages and skill levels to compete, from beginners through to professional artists. Every year, the competition is fierce with the judges and spectators are always impressed by the musical talents of the participants.

The Canadian Music League Music Competition is a showcase of talents but is also a culmination of the previous year’s studies. At Ontario Conservatory of Music, we teach in accordance with the Ontario Conservatory of Music and RCM Examination Grade Standards and our conservatory graded program teach all theoretical, technical and practical aspects of each grade. Our yearly competition is an opportunity for students to take what they have learned in the classroom and apply it in a fun and entertaining setting.

If you’ve been thinking about enrolling your child in music lessons, now is the perfect time. We offer free, no-obligation music assessments in your home to determine your child’s music aptitude, theoretical knowledge and practical skill level. If you start lessons this summer, your child could be participating in next year’s music competition!

Follow us on Facebook and Twitter! We’ll be posting clips from this year’s competition.

The Ontario Conservatory of Music has been delivering high-quality music education to millions of Canadian families for over 80 years.
